History

Since our formation in 1979, we have been continually growing. Our technical support remains unsurpassed, thanks to the commitment to innovation from our experts. We pride ourselves on being a forward¬ thinking company, constantly investing in the latest aviation technologies, which has led to the development of our own range of high-performance LED fittings to the market.

1979

IAVNA is formed by Roy Spicer and the demand for airfield lighting equipment increases. IAVNAS’ first office is located in the director’s family home in Chadwell Heath, Essex.

1980

IAVNA moves to a site on Southend Airport, where offices and additional warehouse space is added as the company grew.

1990

IAVNA invests in the latest aviation technologies, including advanced calibration and testing equipment.

2008

IAVNA begins manufacturing under the ALS brand. Extensive tests of their products are carried out in some of the toughest conditions on earth, from frozen terrain in Canada to the blistering heat of the Middle East.

2010

IAVNA moves to bigger facilities in Wickford, upgrading the factory and offices.

2012

Production of the famous MCR400 ramps up in house following large demand for projects.

2015

Our new brand of DTS LED airfield fittings is introduced under the ALS brand.

2018

IAVNA Acquires Parkinson Richmark, a specialist safety product manufacturer. IAVNA is acquired by AGL Advancement Group.

2019

IAVNA celebrates 40 years of trading.

2019

AGL Advancement Group begins to manage the brands of the company.

2020

ALS introduces Smartbolts, a revolutionary bolt with a visual identification system to show the tension is set correctly. This is a first for the airfield lighting industry.

2021

IAVNA successfully installs two major projects for the Ministry of Defence in the UK. The first being RAF Odiham the home of the Chinook squadron.

IAVNA attends the Inter Airport exhibition in Munich for the first time to launch the AGL Advancement Group to the industry and position the company for future growth.

2021

ALS premieres its new LED PAPI at the Inter Airport Show in Munich and receives a fantastic reaction from worldwide agents and customers.

2022

IAVNA embarks on a major upgrade of its ERP system including an integrated CRM system alongside expanding its warehouse racking capacity to add more stock locations. IAVNA will attend the Dubai exhibition in May and the British/Irish Expo in London in June.

2022

Following the successful Munich exhibition November, AGL Advancement Group will show its three brands at the Dubai Airport Show in May and London in June at the British-Irish Expo.

2023

IAVNA are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with GRP Illuminacion to promote their unique Earth Fault Detection System to the UK Airfield market.
